Recovered media is placed here for direct inspection of the source record. A video, photograph, document or interview is not treated as evidence merely because it appears on this page.
existing public record source
Report / source connected to this witness record. It is presented as documentation, not as independent authentication of the reported event.
Open original source ↗Marler reported that vehicle headlights illuminated a very large upright dark figure near Highway 292. He said the figure moved quickly toward the woods while remaining upright. His passenger, Ethan, was separately interviewed and described an unusually large, dark, hair-covered figure with human-like movement.
The Observatory keeps Chris Marler’s account, Ethan’s separate interview, investigator interpretation and the unsuccessful physical-evidence search as distinct layers. Agreement between interviews is documented as reported consistency, not proof of subject identity.
Only public, encounter-relevant context is shown. Private contact details and precise residential information are not published.
Two motorists reported seeing a large upright dark figure near the roadside before it moved into the woods.
Interviews, reports and transcripts are gathered at the research layer and displayed here when the source and rights state permit it. The original provider is always preserved.

This does not mean the witness is absent from future cross-era or trait analysis.
This stable identifier helps readers and researchers cite the same Observatory witness record over time.
